During his enviable career, prof. Jakovljevic has won many awards and recognitions among which are most prominent: 1999 – Japanese SICOT scholarship – La Societe International de Chirurgie Orthopedique et de Traumatologie SICOT – Award of World Association of Orthopedics, Amsterdam. 2002 – The 2nd best paper on XXII World Congress of La Societe International de Chirurgie Orthopedique et de Traumatologie SICOT, San Diego USA (second best work on the XXII Congress of World Association of orthopedics, San Diego, USA). 2005 – La Course SICOT du Japon – XXIII World Congress of La Societe International de Chirurgie Orthopedique et de Traumatologie SICOT, Istanbul (Award of the World Association of orhopedics for the former work, Istanbul, XXIII World Congress). 2006 - The AMIS project holder - introduced a new surgical method of minimally invasive hip surgery in the Clinical Center Banja Luka. 2007 – Certified surgeon as a Official Reference orthopaedic surgeon for Anterior minimally invasive surgery in total hip replacements, Lugano, Switzerland (Nomination for Referent surgeon for Anterior minimally invasive surgery of the company “Medacta”, Lugano, Switzerland).

Author of many books and articles, domestic and international (books published:6, articles published: over 100). He has 10 calling lectures at the World Congress and 30 mentorships in specializations, master's degrees and doctoral dissertations. In addition, prof. dr Jakovljević has been active in sports for many years. From 1973 to 1978 he was a member of KK 'Vremeplov', Banja Luka. From 1980 to 2008 he was a basketball judge (more than 1200 matches). As a statistician he was one of the youngest participants of Basketball European Championship (KEP) for women held in Banja Luka in 1980. From 2008 to 2012, he was a delegate - controller at the Basketball Federation of Republika Srpska and Basketball Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since 2010 he has been a leader and assembly president of the Association for Contemporary Education in Sports "Sport Studio" Banja Luka.

Commissioner of the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Basketball.

"Most of the doctors, almost 90 percent of them, said that I should change sport and finish with my carieer. Only one of them, Dr Jakovljevic, said that we will solve it. But how? We'll see, but we will solve it. I went to the 'Sport Studio' in Banja Luka and we worked on my recovery for year. This year we have proved that everything works in the best possible way. We are stronger now than we have ever been."
